Halaqat's double interview with Jowe Harfouche and Sonja Hegasy

"Culture is not a sector or a discipline per se. Culture is also identity and knowledge-production and transmission. Putting two cultures in dialogue cannot be only epidermal. It is by definition a very deep, radical conversation." - J. Harfouche

Ahead of the third and final Experts' roundtable in Brussels on 23-24 May 2022, Halaqat met with NAAS's Executive Director Jowe Harfouche and Vice Director of the Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient Sonja Hegasy to discuss the equitable cultural relations between Europe and the Arab world in more detail.

Discover this rich double interview, which covers the topics of equity, decolonisation, the role of culture and the development of relations between the two regions, here.
